This past Spring our YMCA purchased an automated chemical control system for our outdoor pool from Mr. Rick Dempsey with Simply Water, LLC in Kingwood, Texas. We had great success with using this system with our pool this past summer.

We recently purchased three controllers for our Aquatic Center. In my search for an automatic system I spoke with several companies and we chose to do business with Simply Water.

During the past three years our association has constructed two new YMCAs and made several modifications to existing facilities. Pool chemistry, maintenance and equipment have been an interest and concern during these projects.


It seems that every vendor we speak to on the topic of swimming pools gives just enough information to sell their product (and confuse our staff). I have found one major exception in the person of Rick Dempsey.

Our Department has been involved with Simpy Water since 1999. With the everincreasing demands placed on us by reduced budgets and increased guidelines for public swimming pools and the dend for accuracy in water chemistry Simply Water has become an invaluable resource. Regardless of the time of day, or day of the week, Rick Dempsey and his company have been available.

Recently, I had a problem that was really confusing me in regards to why the steps I was taking were not working. He walked us through the steps to correct the problem and checked up on us for the next several days to see if everything was OK. Rick Dempsey's customer service is exceptional.We're in Georgia and if we need parts or support Rick has answered the call.On any given day our department can call Mr. Dempsey and he will walk us through the steps to resolve the problem or remotely log on to the controller to make an assesment. Rick is very patient with non-pool personel as well as very detail-oriented for the Certified Pool Operator.

Rick Dempsey is worth his weight in gold when it comes to Aquatic Consultation. His expert adviceand problem solving assistance has reduced my chemical and maintenance expense by 75% and man hours by 65%.

When my swim school was built, I had the chemical feed controllers installed by the pool builder. For two years we went through countless dollars and hours with these (made for private pools) feeders. I was on the phone with the manufacturer's customer service department several times daily. No one was able to give me the help I needed.

I asked the manufacturer for a refund and the representative sent me their Dichlor Feeder (for free) instead, but I told him the reasons why this was not satisfactory. He then realized that this might be above his head and suggested that I call his company's consultant. I did call and the consultant gave me several different strategies to try to salvage the original feeders even though they were not intended for use in a commercial facility. He said, "If that doesn't work, call Rick Dempsey, he may be able to help you with your water problems." Boy, was that the understatement of the century!

I tried the strategies that the consultant suggested for a couple of weeks, but after thsoe feeders put 30 gallons of Liquid Chlorine into my 25,000 gallon pool overnight, in total exasperation, I called Rick. Without giving him any money or promising business, he walked me through correcting this horrendous problem. We were on the phone each hour from early morning, and before 3pm we were ready for lessons to begin for the day.

Rick wanted to see if we could make the old feeders work for me, but by this time I had no faith in them. I soon purchased the Simply Water controller and have been a very satisfied customer. In the beginning, I was on the phone with Rick 5 or 6 times a day and if I didn't call him, he would call me to make sure everything was ok. He always takes my calls or calls me back within an hour. Who else, in any business, can you call day or night with a problem and get the help you need right then?

Rick Dempsey's knowledge of pool chemistry and maintenance is unequaled. His dedication to customer service and professionalism has made him a priceless asset to our operation.

The continuous help that you have provided for us is remarkable. My goal was to find a system that would eliminate liability regarding chemical hazards, make a maintenance friendly environment, and be cost efficient.
